Admiral Sir Algernon Charles Fieschi Heneage GCB (19 March 1833 – 10 June 1915) was a Royal Navy officer who went on to be Commander-in-Chief, The Nore. Dubbed "Pompo," he was known for his immaculate dress and his white-glove inspections of the ships under his command.〔 ==Naval career== Heneage was appointed a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy in 1854〔(William Loney RN )〕 Promoted to Captain in 1866, he took command of HMS ''Rodney'' in 1867 and then HMS ''Warrior'' in 1881.〔 He was appointed Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Station in 1887 and Commander-in-Chief, The Nore in 1892.〔 He died in 1915 and is buried at Brompton Cemetery.〔(Find-a-Grave )〕 The grave lies against the eastern wall towards the north-east corner. His wife lies with him.
